Chemical Reaction: In a chemical reaction in which chemical substance transform into new chemical substance. For example: digestion of food, rusting iron, respiration etc.
The properties of new chemical substance is completely different from the original substance, hence in chemical reaction chemical change takes place.
Features of chemical reaction:
(i) New substance is formed
(ii) colour change take place
(iii) Heat evolution or heat absorption take place
(iv) Evolution of gas.
(v) Evolution of light.
(vi) Evolution of sound etc.
Reactant: The original substances which take part in a chemical reaction are called reactants.
Product: The new substances which are formed after chemical reaction is called product.
chemical reaction.
Chemical Equation: Using symbols of substances represent a chemical reaction is called
Chemical equation are two types (i) Balanced Chemical Equation and (ii) Unbalanced Chemical Equation.
Balanced Chemical Equation: In this equation the number of atoms on both sides are equal.
Unbalanced Chemical Equation: In this equation the number of atoms of each element in reactants is not equal to the number of atoms of each element present in product, then the chemical equation is called unbalanced chemical equation.
